Three years after the infamous monkey-gate issue, Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Symonds will play together in the IPL 4.
Mumbai Indians , who had already retained the Indian off spinner, bought Symonds for US$850,000 on the first day of the IPL 4 auctions. The two cricketers were involved in a controversy which threatened the integrity of world cricket.
The Australian all-rounder alleged that the Harbhajan Singh called him a “monkey” during the controversial Sydney Test, three years ago in 2008.
The successive hearings saw Harbhajan Singh being banned for three Tests by the International Cricket Council.
However, the ban was later overturned to fuel fire amongst both the teams.
Symonds played for the Deccan Chargers in the first three editions of the IPL.
